Early 20th century Hopi pottery canteen attributed to Nampeyo of Hano.
Hand made with native clay and paints, pit fired, 6" diameter by 4 3/8" deep.
Three red border paper tags on the back, most illegible, $4 price,
"Hopi Indians of Northern Arizona Oraibi Pueblo N043."
Attribution given by Barton Wright, noted Hopi scholar.
Collection number 179.

Attribution from Martha Struever who indicated it may be a Kiva jar.
Exhibited at Legends of Pottery and Southwestern Jewelry, Santa Fe, 2000.

Channel set turquoise with carved surfaces.
The flat cuff is 7/8" wide, interior of the silver is 5" plus the gap of 1 1/8".

The seated male figure is 9 3/4" tall by 8 1/4" front to back.
Singing with eyes closed, drum stick raised over the pottery drum.
Excellent painted details and condition. Circa 1970s.

35 delicately hand carved birds and animals by Zuni artist David Tsikewa.
Coral, turquoise, shell, and serpentine on olivella shell heishi.
25" long, one strand lays inside the other.
Finished with sterling silver cones and chain.
Note the woodpecker, bears, wolves and birds.

Very interesting square designs.
Acquired in 1920 with buff bowl and red canteen.
4 1/4" tall by 7" diameter.
No chips or cracks, handling wear.

Using the natural bend of the root, the Palhik Mana is for hanging, 30" tall.
